ClickToBlue's mission is to support progressive online publishers and their audiences, and to develop the building blocks to expand the progressive online ecosystem.

Background

ClickToBlue's founders are a group of progressive activists who were brought together by a joint desire to support the growing progressive online ecosystem. Our founders' deep professional experiences in the technology, media, and finance worlds led them to recognize that an opportunity existed to leverage innovations in the new media business sector across the progressive movement.

The idea of ClickToBlue grew out of an ongoing conversation regarding the challenges that progressive online publishers face in attracting large advertisers to support their editorial and creative activities. As long-time activists, ClickToBlue's founders recognized that the fragmented landscape of progressive bloggers and Internet publishers, while led by thought leaders, lacked viable institutional support to market, measure, and monetize its audience.

Our solution. ClickToBlue -- A progressive ad network that was founded in the spirit of the progressive blog community, a network that was "progressive" not just in name, but one that would provide advertising from companies and organizations that share the values of its publishers and their audience.

ClickToBlue was founded as a network that would support its members, connect the progressive blog community, and harness aggregated buying power, while still preserving the unique nature and culture of the progressive online publishing world.

Founding Principles

We support our mission by conducting our business in a manner consistent with our members' core set of values. We strive for engagement with the progressive publishing community by promoting transparency, customer service, best practices, and progressive ideals.

Transparency: We will make the mistake of disclosing too much in favor of becoming the proverbial 'black box' business. We promote partnership, and we believe that the best way to foster respect and trust is by being as open as possible about our statistics, operating methodologies, and policies.
Customer Service: Our online publishers deserve the same level of service as their old media counterparts receive from their agencies. We believe that by providing superior support to our members, we free them up to focus on their editorial efforts.
Best Practices: We are evaluating industry practices in the online media space on an ongoing basis, and strive to identify and apply best-of-breed technologies, reporting tools, and sales and marketing techniques to the progressive world.
Progressive Ideals: Just as our members are passionate about their viewpoints and making their opinions known, we are passionate about ensuring that the progressive blogosphere not just exists, but thrives. We wouldn't be doing this if we didn't believe in it.
